Case
Pigeons are
trainable and pretty birds. They are considered the symbol of peace, and can be
trained to carry messages long distances. Both male and female pigeons take
care of the their squabs and can be raised in farms to use their feces as
fertilizer. However, in big numbers pigeons cause pollution and transmit
diseases. The school at Puerto Carreño is no exception. Our school in Puerto
Carreño is overrun by these birds. They make their nests in all of the
buildings and their feces are splattered everywhere. Also, they cause damage when
they use any kind of material to build their nests. We don´t know what to do, the
smell in the classroom and throughout the school grounds is unbearable. What
should we do to live and study free of these birds?. What is your position, to live in harmony
with this birds or drive them away and use their feces as fertilizer? Propose a
reasonable point of view, since banishing and poisoning them is an animal
cruelty and illegal.
